Robert Boyle Robert Boyle was a famous philosopher, chemist, physicist, inventor, and scientist. This magnificent man was born on January 25th, 1627. He was born in Munster, Ireland, so he is of Irish descent. Robert Boyle was the fourteenth child of Richard Boyle. He was the seventh son, so he had seven sisters as well. As a child, Robert Boyle was fluent in many languages including: Latin, French, and Greek. When Boyle was nine days old, he faced the sick loss of his mother. Robert Boyle was sent to England, to the Eton College. Boyle remained in that location for three years, and thus left wing for Italy in 1641 with a French tutor.
